Shambhala Kid Village

topic posted Tue, June 14, 2005 - 1:39 PM by  Neith
Is anyone interested
in working/playing together
to make this happen....

I would also like to talk
about how appropriate
other parents feel
it is
to bring kids
to these events.....

    HiYa -

This is the 2nd "Shambhala" post I've come across today ... ummm, I'm not the only person who found Shambhala International a tad tight / hierarchical. As a long-time Buddhist I've come to know just how much good stuff they do and all, but at a vibe level, well ...

So I'm wondering: what's the scoop on the "Shambhala" meme? Is there a related website?

Kids...., I'd love to bring my daughter, but at 6....., I'm not sure how well she would deal with it, scratch that, she would be fine (except for the loud music), it's the tales she would tell the Grandparents that scares me.

I am delited to see that your going Nieth, I was hoping you were, been practicing me drum and would love to jam....., now that I can hold a reasonable beat (been going out to Trout Lake with the Fire spinners) :)

      HI Daimian

Love the new photo! From Faeries and Fools??

Dont know about Shambhala now....things change
but great that you are working with the drum!

We'll get our chance to drum together again some time.

I am now considering taking the kids to a Rainbow Gathering on Van Is that week/weekend
      alittle more mellow

If anyone else would like to know more about it, contact me or see the events listings on Tribe.

Faeries and Fools would have been a delite as well,
but Burn in the Forest was smokin'!

As you say..., things change and I find myself no longer destined for Shambhala...... so yes, please tell me more about the gathering :)

THis is my first Rainbow gathering so I cant tell you too much about it
My partner has been to 19 of them and I guess what he has to say about them
is that it is a place where anything goes....
but no power so no thumpin sound systems
Its all what you can bring in and create more, "organically" I suppose

Kind of a portable, inflatable intentional community
that only floats for a couple of weeks

CHeck the events listings for directions
          Its up near Campbell River

Is there any small majic music dancin love belly drummin kid friendly thing happening near Vancouver in the next couple weeks?
